who it is for?
Your current profile covers only half of what customer-embedded AI engineering demands.
I can build features, but I've never owned a client outcome end to end.
What you'll gain
MAKING AI WORK FOR A CUSTOMER
AI runs through every module. But the skill that gets you hired, isn't prompting. It's scoping the ask, proving the system works, and defending it to the people who have to sign off. You do all three inside one live engagement.
Curriculum
How is This Module Future Proof
The full client-room toolkit before any deep theory, graded from the first classes.
Start in the client room, engagement lifecycle, MECE, BLUF and the artifact toolkit, then design Meridian's secure order-platform schema and solve the legacy problem their customer PII actually lives behind: a firewalled on-prem SQL Server.

Project
Not disconnected builds. Each project adds the next production layer to the same Meridian Retail engagement, and the capstone proves it transfers.
Design Meridian's secure production schema with RLS, column encryption and audit trails, solve federated access to the firewalled on-prem SQL Server their customer PII lives in, then build the tested async Python ingestion service, streaming exports via generators, Pydantic-validated, fully covered by pytest, with a PySpark transform layered in for the heavier data loads.
AI-assisted profiling flagged likely PII fields and schema anomalies in the legacy export before the ingestion pipeline was built.
Build the client's real backend, order lifecycle state machine, payment reconciliation, notifications, OAuth2/OIDC auth, live status over WebSockets, OpenTelemetry tracing, backed by an OpenAPI-specced contract and the dbt/Airflow/Kafka data platform behind it.
pgvector semantic search and streaming, AI-ready endpoints are built into the platform from day one
Build the ops dashboard the client's team uses daily, validated intake forms, KPI tables and filters, role-gated views and real-time order status, then defend the architecture and walk the end users through it.
Streaming, AI-ready interface patterns power the dashboard's real-time layer
Redesign the platform to survive a 50x campaign surge, load balancing, caching, sharding with rebalancing, a Kafka event backbone, a 10TB query path and Saga-based distributed transactions, presented as an architecture proposal deck defended to leadership.
The redesign explicitly provisions for AI workloads, copilot traffic and vector search, under surge load
Run discovery and scoping on a fresh non-Meridian brief under time pressure, build the data, backend, dashboard and AI/agent layer in compressed sprints, then present at Demo Day to an industry panel.
Every capstone ships a production AI/agent layer scoped to the new client's actual problem

how scaler works
Designed for people with jobs, ambition, and limited time. Structure, people, practice, and accountability are built in so upskilling turns into capability.
You spend the program embedded with Meridian Retail, a realistic simulated client: messy legacy data behind a firewall, PII and PCI constraints, shifting stakeholders, and a Black Friday deadline. Every module adds a production layer to the same living platform.
Mentors review your Meridian work, coach your discovery calls and exec updates before the graded versions, and give artifact feedback the way a real engagement lead would.
197 live sessions including 14 graded assessments, 10 hands-on labs and 18 communication classes, a timed RAG build, a red-team war room on your shipped agent, a system-design interview simulation, an AWS security assessment, a live incident drill, and a demo day with an industry panel.
A real AWS production go-live with Terraform (28 sessions), multi-region reliability and DR, enterprise security sign-off, and the capstone.

Structured check-ins, career support, and access to Scaler's alumni community keep you moving long after the program ends.
Live sessions, regular curriculum updates, and lifetime access to recorded content mean you remain current as the industry moves. Not caught up. Ahead of it.

Scaler's AI Forward Deployed Engineer course is a 12-month online program that trains working engineers to take AI and software products into a customer's business and make them work in production.
This FDE course combines full-stack engineering, production AI and client-facing consulting in one curriculum. It's built around a single simulated client engagement that runs from your first discovery call to production scale.

Every module extends the same live client engagement, building one production platform instead of disconnected assignments or standalone projects.
Begin with client discovery, PRD-lite, SOW, stakeholder communication, and executive summaries before writing production code.
Master communication through discovery calls, design reviews, executive briefings, incident war rooms, and real stakeholder presentations.
You're deployed onto a single enterprise client on day one, and the ask never stops moving. Legacy data behind a firewall. A support copilot that then has to act on real orders. A peak-season campaign at 50x traffic.
Golden sets, retrieval precision/recall/MRR, RAGAS faithfulness scoring, PII guardrails, prompt-injection red-teaming, cost/latency routing, canary rollouts, and drift detection. Anyone can make an LLM look good on a slide. You'll prove yours holds in production.
Timed RAG builds, an architecture you defend live, a red-team war room, a capstone your classmates are invited to attack. Scored against hiring-loop standards. And throughout, you answer to the people who'd sign off, not just to a grader.
